No matter where you are on your faith journey, Rooted is a solid next step. This is a 10-week experience where you will strengthen your connection with God, connect with others in the church, and take practical next steps in living out your purpose.

Whether you have been following Jesus for decades, or question whether he is even real, Rooted is a safe place to grow with others as you experience and practice the rhythms of following Jesus.

10 Weeks + 10-12 People

Group members meet once a week to discuss insights and questions prompted by the material.

Daily Reading + Reflection

Each week guides you through five days of reading and reflection. Come each day expecting to learn more about yourself and God.

Prayer + Service + Celebration Experiences

During the 10 weeks, small groups gather for prayer, serving, and celebrating.

What is Rooted?

Rooted is a pathway to strengthen your connection with God, the church and your purpose. Rooted will help you understand the rhythms of following Jesus whether you have been following him for decades or question if he is even real. It is a ten-week program that includes five days of reading and reflection each week. There are three additional experiences that happen throughout the ten weeks as well: 1) a Prayer experience around week three held in someone’s home, 2) a Serve Experience around weeks six and seven at one of our Community Partners, and 3) at the completion of Rooted, all current Rooted groups come together for a fun celebration.

When does the next Rooted session start?
Rooted groups launch three times throughout the year: February, April, and September. Registration opens one month before each launch date. If we are currently in the middle of a Rooted session, we recommend you email the Rooted Coordinator to get on the list for the next session.
How will I register and what is the cost?
Registration is easy! Once registration is open for the upcoming session, just click on the link and select which day and time you want and follow the steps to register. The cost is $20 per person to go through the course. The cost covers your workbook and other materials.
Is there childcare?
No, there is no childcare available.
What are the two off-site experiences? Is childcare provided for those?
Each group will have a Prayer Experience and a Serve Experience outside of regular group time. No on-site childcare is provided for these experiences.
Where will my Rooted group meet?
Some Rooted groups will meet on-campus; others off-campus. It will be up to the group leader.
What if I can’t make all ten weeks?
We understand that Rooted is a large time commitment, but we believe it is worth it to invest in the entire process. If you know you are going to miss more than two meetings, we ask that you wait until the next session of Rooted.
Do we have to go through the Rooted experience?
You are not required to participate in the Rooted experience. However, we believe Rooted is a catalyst for life change and growth in your relationship with God no matter where you are in your journey with him. Our hope is that everyone will want to make the decision to participate. Rooted is a step we desire everyone to take prior to joining an ongoing crew or community. We recommend you pray about when the time might be right for you. There is no rush. Rooted is here to stay.
What is the difference between Rooted and crews/communities?
Rooted is the on-ramp to crews and communities here at Good News. Our desire is that your Rooted group will transition into a crew at the end of the ten weeks. We strongly encourage everyone to go through Rooted before joining an open crew or community.
